REGIONALS TEAMS
Hi Sublime,
The Regional teams have been finalised and updated on the page for Sublime (A) and Sublime (O).
Sublime will also be picking up two Australian junior players who joined us in Canberra. Tom Tulett and Lochie Wise played well for Sublime at the Canberra Invitational and have the necessary skills to fill some gaps identified within our team structures. Both are conducting individual training in line with the clubs expectations.
Following the regionals tournament final team rosters will be agreed upon based on the best blance for teams. There will only be limited changes to the teams though. Both teams will likely discuss player and team expectations from this weekend onwards as we need to continue to strive to be better in order to compete with the best in the nation.
Please note that we are only two months out from Nationals and now is the time to start lifting at training to prepare for this competition, (preferably you should be peaking).

BC Invitational - Cont.
Sublime has won the Inaugural BC Invitational tournament in Canberra and, in doing so, has brought home Sublime's first champion's trophy from an East Coast tournament!
Aided by the very capable hands (and wealth of experience) of Charles Blumer, Tom Tulett, Steve Antonopolous, Jens Something, Eric Gross and HoS star Lochie Wise, the Sublime challengers dropped only one game, 13-12 against I-Beam in pool play.
Winning the tournament can be considered a bonus for the team after they 'Won the Party' on Saturday night. A head count at 1am showed that Sublime had a roster of 10 intoxicated players, all of whom had to play at 8:30am the next morning.
The Sublime Award for outstanding individual performance at the tournament party went to Jonathan Tatham. Representing I-Beam, Tatts stood tall and drunk until the early hours of the morning, before taking the entire final day off to recover.

Sublime 2009 Squads
Boys,
Thanks to everyone who has tried out for Sublime 2009. Both training camps were well attended and we were impressed with everyone's attitude and commitment. We have decided to take 36 players to the next stage of preparation for Nationals. This includes 15 who have been selected for the A team and 21 for the second team.
There are some spots still to be determined for the A team. These players will be selected in early March following Canberra. It is likely there will be at least 1 and as many as 3 players moved to the A team.
Being selected on the A team now does not guarantee a spot for Nationals. Adjustments will be made if players do not show the required level of commitment, fitness, and ability over the next two months.
Adjustments can also be made between Regionals and Nationals for a number of reasons including team balance.
Being selected to the second team now does not guarantee a spot at Nationals or playing time at Nationals. The selectors will be meeting with a number of players about improvement required in order to maintain their spot on the second team. It is possible that some of these players may be cut at a later date. Once the leadership group is established for the second team, they will also have some say in how many players are carried on their roster for Nationals.
Paul and Eels

Team Leadership Vote - IMPORTANT
We will be having a team vote on Leadership for 2009 at UWA SportsPark at 7.40pm, Wed 21 Jan. Positions available will be for Captain of Sublime (Anti Social) and Sublime (Obnoxious) and vice-Captain of Sublime (Anti Social) and Sublime (Obnoxious) respectively.
Nominations can be received as a self nomination or peer nomination (if accepted). Nominees will then have the opportunity to give a brief introduction and explanation (max 2 mins) of what they would bring to the team as a leader. (ie their reasons/experience/goals/plans/strategy, whatever you like for the team).
Following this captains and vc's can then determine the appropriate leadership arrangements for each team and delegation of responsibilities (including coaching, logistics, funds and communications, dencorub mascot). This is an opportune time to delegate a few tasks.
All players should seriously consider these critical roles.
